Why Every Girl Should Try Boxing Just Once

Hey ladies! Are there any boxing fans reading?

I don’t hear people talking about boxing much anymore, which is a shame. Boxing has always been a great hobby of mine.
To look at me, people wouldn’t expect it as I have no muscle whatsoever and am ‘too skinny’ as people say..

But from the age of 7 I have been in boxing clubs, competed in tournaments, and I have over 20 medals for boxing. 12 of them being gold. (Corrr brag much?) But I don’t mean to sound like a bighead, I just really got into the sport!
Although I only do it for fun now, it is such a good thing to do as it is a major stress relief, and helps with concentration, mental fortitude, anxiety and reflexes. To be in the boxing ring you must have motivation and courage; and the adrenaline rush you get is just what you need..

I can still relive the adrenaline rush I got before a tournament and that thrill I had.

Surprisingly for someone who now lacks in self confidence quite often, I was always confident. I always knew I had it in me to win, and that all I had to do to not lose was believe in myself and give it my all.

I’ve found that boxing has helped me to overcome my fears, give me that extra confidence I need, and given me a stronger mindset. It is a great way to get your blood pumping and can be really fun!
I recently bought a punch bag and two new sets of gloves for me and my other half, as we often play fight and pretend we’re in a boxing ring. (But often end up with the occasional accidental bruise, oops!) So I thought why not get a punch bag and some pads so we can motivate each other?

I can’t even begin to tell you the benefits..

Have you ever been for a run? And come home exhausted but feeling really good about yourself, and found it so rewarding? That’s what boxing is like but you feel stronger and a lot more confident in yourself. Have a look online if you’re interested and see if there’s any clubs or gyms near you that offer a free boxing class as a trial. Or have a go yourself at home if you can borrow some gloves from someone. It’s so beneficial!

Why not give it a try if you haven’t already and see what you think?

  2. Stephanie Jay says:

I’ve never thought of trying boxing before but it sounds like it could be really beneficial (and fun!)

    1. Definitely! Thanks for reading Stephanie! 🙂 xo

  3. I had always wanted to learn taekwondo or stuff like this, but earlier school and now university leaves me no time . But this time I will surely take my time out for it.

    1. I know what you mean about not having the time Jaya. I feel the stress of lack of time as well. It’s important to set a routine and make an hour or so of YOU time every day where you do things that’s good for your body and mind! xo

  4. I’ve trained my ladies in MMA many moons ago. They were all tough and resilient. Great message for women.

    1. Thank you Lawrence! I really appreciate your comment! xo
