Lozza’s Guide To Positive Vibes

YO YO YO!

I wanted to spread some positive vibes in this post, as lately I have noticed a major mood drop in a lot of people; probably due to the weather getting colder and the nights getting darker earlier which can cause SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) in many people which often goes unnoticed. I myself suffer with SAD and my depression gets a lot worse in the winter and I lose all motivation, but it can be dealt with!

Whether you suffer with SAD or not, if you are feeling depressed or de-motivated you could probably do with a booster too so this post may be helpful to you. (I hope!)

Not everyone has strong connections around them and people to pick you up when you’re feeling down, so sometimes we need to be our own hero and lift ourselves up.

If you feel like you have lost yourself a little lately and want to be back to your normal positive self, here is my helpful list to get your positive vibes flowing through your veins again!

Step One..

Don’t lose contact with friends and family. Dark nights and cold weather can make you feel like staying in all snuggled up every night and you can go weeks or even months without socialising and catching up with friends, leaving you feeling isolated, lonely and can make your depression worse. Have a gathering, invite your friends over! Arrange to go out for a meal, or do something different. Yes the weather is cold and horrible and we all hate it, but once you’ve got the travel part out the way you’ll be in the nice and warm with your loved ones.

Step Two..

Treat yourself. Buy something new for yourself like a new outfit, book or game to take your mind off things and lift your spirits. Don’t ever forget to look after yourself and treat yourself now and again.

Step Three..

Keep a diary and make plans to keep you organised. Make lists of things that you need to do so you don’t forget and keep on top of it. Make plans to look forward to, and when you’re next looking through your diary you have a little reminder of what’s to come to give you something to be happy about.

Step Four..

Brush away the negativity. Are the people around you always talking negatively and getting you down? Ignore the negative comments and focus on the positive things that are around you. There is good in everything. If it’s a bad time and you don’t feel like anything is going good, what do you have? A loving partner? A good job/home? Wonderful children? There will be something. Embrace the good things in your life and concentrate on them. Don’t let the negativity in the world get to you and bring you down.

Step Five..

Put all our favourite songs into a playlist and play it whenever you’re in the car or at home. Anywhere and anytime you can, PLAY IT! It will stop your mind running away from you and will put you in a good mood before you get into a bad one. TRY IT!

  1. I think we could all use some positive vibes this time of year! I love that things tend to slow down a bit during the fall and winter but I also feel a little down without the sunshine. This year, I’ve decided to take some online classes over the fall and winter to keep me engaged and busy!
