How To Get Rid Of Cellulite

Cellulite is such a horrible word! We hate it, don’t we girls?! What on earth is it? Waaaaaaa!

I’m here to give you the ultimate guide to busting the appearance crasher.

The first thing you need to be aware of is what causes cellulite, as it takes some time to remove. and will more than likely come back, if you don’t treat it properly.

Cellulite is caused by a build up of fatty deposits which causes dimpling of the skin, and to be honest it really doesn’t make us feel glamorous does it?

Cellulite is most commonly caused by:

  • Unhealthy diet
  • Lack of exercise
  • Slower metabolism
  • Your total body fat

You can get cellulite regardless of your weight, you could be a size zero and still have it due to your lifestyle, so don’t think you are overweight or abnormal as it is more common than you think.

Cellulite is more common in women than men due to hormones.

There are hundreds of posts online about how to get rid of cellulite and unfortunately most of them are too good to be true..

I’ll get real with you..

Removing cellulite is not an overnight process, and will take some time with no guarantee of not coming back.

The best way to know how to get rid of cellulite is to make a few changes to prevent you from getting cellulite is the first place (Duh!) And that is to eat a balanced diet and exercise. By exercising your muscles will become more toned and you will be less likely to get cellulite.

Cellulite mostly appears across thighs, bum and hips. Try to do at least half an hour of exercise a day such as squats and lunges to target these areas.



Something I have personally tried is dry brushing. It’s not that pleasant (I’ll be honest) but I have found this to be the most effective way of reducing the appearance of cellulite at the least.

Using a dry body brush, use in circular  motions across the affect areas and repeat daily before a bath or shower. This will help to actually get rid of cellulite rather than just reducing the appearance slightly.

If you are looking for a short term effect, there are many gels and creams you can use to reduce the appearance of cellulite; but bare in mind this won’t remove it, just make it less visible for a short term effect.

Another short term help is to use a gradual tanner/self tan as darker skin shows cellulite less.
