Exercise Motivation & How To Have Fun Doing It!

So you want a hot bod, or just to lose a little weight? But I’m guessing if you’re reading this you have very little motivation; and although your head is in the right place, you just can’t get yourself to get up and exercise.

Well GOOD NEWS, if you hate the word ‘exercise’ it can be made slightly easier for you..

Remember when you see photos of celebs with flat stomachs and looking like a Barbie doll, chances are they have been Photoshopped. And do not look that damn awesome in real life, so do NOT compare yourself to these ‘goddesses’ as it’s not quite reality.

Here’s how to have fun whilst you exercise!

1. Make a workout playlist! Organise all them tracks that get your blood pumping and in the mood to get up and dance! This is one of the main keys to motivate you!

2. Whether you’re at the gym, or working out at home, set your space up so you have all the equipment you need (if any) and try to eliminate distractions (keep the kids away!)

3. Keep a bottle of water near you at all times – Trust me, you’ll need it!

4. Make a planner! Give yourself a time slot for each exercise. (10 minutes of squats etc..)

5. Take a 2 minute break after each exercise to give your body time to relax after starting the next sequence of exercises.

6. Get a workout buddy! Meet up with a friend and workout together! It’s a great way to socialize whilst keeping fit at the same time, and you’ll end up motivating each other at the same time!

7. After a good session of exercise, treat yourself to a pamper session. Get into a habit of taking care of your body and treating yourself to a spa treat afterwards, to motivate you each time you exercise!

8. Make a nice smoothie to drink before/after you exercise. (Totally Random Ideas have some great recipes! Check them out here!) Water gets boring when your drinking it throughout your workout, so add a nutritional smoothie to give your taste buds a kick! Fruit tastes good you know! 🙂

9. Keep a section in your wardrobe of a few different workout outfits! If you chuck on the same joggers/vest top every time you exercise, it will start to feel like a chore (if it doesn’t already!) Having a variety of workout outfits will keep you feeling ready and fresh, and not so groggy.

Why Not Read..

  1. This should help me get back to working out especially the point about keeping a section of clothes for working out. I was using the same outfits and true to your article, it did feel like chore and not to mention such a bore.

    1. It’s amazing how much difference having specific workout outfits makes to you mentally, it really helps me to get in the mood 🙂 Thanks for reading! xo

  2. I hate the gym, I hate it. However I live in a country where outdoor activities are in the moment limited due heat and sandstorms. Motivation is key, like your thoughts

    1. I’m sure you’re not the only one! At least you’ve got the weather to take part in it outside! Don’t give up! 🙂 xo

  3. I am very lazy and busy, but I want to include exercise in my daily routine. As you are someone who does enjoy exercise and know a great deal about it, can you please suggest me a exercise that can help me lose my belly fat ? (I am fit overall, but this belly fat never goes :/)

    1. Hi Jeet! Don’t worry I think we all are at times! Belly fat is the WORST to get rid of, I feel your pain! Whenever I carry a little extra weight there I do sit-ups. You could start off with a round of 15, then pause for 20 seconds, then increase your rounds by 5 sit-ups each time until you’ve had enough. (I try to do it for at least 20 minutes a day) But also remember that food and diet is more important thank you think as well! Less of the fatty foods, and replace meals with soups (they’re filling and full of the good stuff!) I hope this helps! 🙂 xo

  4. I love your tips! 🙂 I go in to the gym everyday and I think that the most important thing is, as you’ve mentioned before, the playlist 🙂 I’m so motivated because I know that I’m going to listen to good music or watch some good youtube vlogs when I will be running 🙂 And I olso think that it’s important to plan your workout in the morning, so that you won’t procrastinate it 🙂

    1. Ah you got it! 🙂 Planning is sooo important, and good music gets my blood pumping! Thanks for reading 🙂 xo

  5. Loved this! I really appreciate tips 4 and 7. Number 7 is so important and very easy to neglect. Thanks for the tips!

    1. Thank you! 🙂 Indeed it’s easy to forget these things, but motivation is key! xo
