Summer is just around the corner so let’s make the most of it and get positive! I find often when I’m feeling down or have lost my motivation, I can create a better life for myself in just a few easy steps.
If you’re sat at home reading this, thinking that you’re in a bit of a rut, then it sounds like some changes are on the horizon. Living your best life is a bit of a cliched thing that we all hear a lot at the moment. But do you know what, it doesn’t have to be. You can live your best life. It might just take making some changes to get you there.
Here are some things that can help you to make changes:
Authenticity over Conformity
If you are able to live a life that is true to you and true to what you are, like, and enjoy, rather than living a life dependant on what other people think, you’ll be living a life that is filled with much more freedom. You are you and will know what is best for you. Don’t just conform unless that is what you really want to do.
Decide on Vision and Goals
You are only going to be able to achieve what you want to in life if you have a clear set of goals or vision for what you want to be doing. How will life look like for you in five or ten years time, for example? Create a planner, record your thoughts and work out a path to help you get there. Nothing is impossible and if you work hard enough and want something that bad there is no reason why you can’t make it happen. Have a vision, and then set out some goals to help you to achieve it. If you work hard enough, you WILL get there.
Live in the Present
While you should have a vision for your life and goals that you want to achieve, you shouldn’t live your life in a way where you just think ‘I’ll be happy when.’ When you do that, it is not a positive way to live. Set yourself goals, but enjoy life each day too. Don’t put your life on hold until certain things have been achieved, otherwise, it can be hard to enjoy it as much. Live for the moment! Cutting toxic people out of your life can be easier said than done. But it can be something that will help you to create a better life for yourself. It could be people in the workplace that you may need the help of employment solicitors for. It could be certain family members or friends that make it hard to be around them or are always negative. Just think about what action you can take to make your life better and more enjoyable, free from any toxicity. And don’t feel guilty about it either!
Indian activist Gandhi said that full effort is full victory. So regardless of the outcome, if you gave it your full effort, then it can still be a victory. But how many of us take this on? Don’t we often think that we have to be doing things perfectly in order for it to be a success? So with this in mind, make a more realistic view of what success means to you. Is it better to be living life to the full and taking a few tumbles, or just sitting and watching timidly as life passes you by?
Take risks, be kind, plan, set goals, and then go and smash them on your terms. It’s alllll good.
